Children’s X-Rays Information Spread

Thoughts On This Illustration

This children’s X-Ray information spread was focused on major icons of history presenting cool facts and/or teaching kids about specific topics. I chose Marie Curie and focused on her work with X-Rays and their medical uses. Originally, I was going to present Marie Curie with her more broad work on radioactivity, but it would be too much to paste on one spread. This piece is intended to be for a children’s book that is focused on explaining the basics of the electromagnetic spectrum to kids.

Instead, focusing on one aspect of radioactivity in Marie’s work (medical use of X-Rays) allowed for more exploration in terms of the topic and how I could present it to children living in the modern world and how it might be interpreted by say, a child who is scared of going to a hospital. As a result, this turned out successfully with concise and basic knowledge that would be perfect for children.
